...and another

Hello folks. A flying visit from me today to share this

for these challenges

Have a lovely weekend xx

Thursday 27 February 2014

Shopping bag!!

Welcome to Thursday my crafty buddies, it will soon be the weekend and a new month.

Speaking of new I am sharing a DT card that I made for the showcase of two new challenges that start today.

The Crafty Little Fairies are going Shopping and
As you Like It are getting 3d textural

Here is what I did

I made the card base by cutting a 5" strip from a 12x12 Teresa Collins embossed core'dinations pad, which I then sanded back to reveal the core. I used a saucer to round all four corners, then scored at 5",6" and 7" and creased to make a gusset.

I lined the inside with papers and added a little pocket in which to put cash or a gift card and added some handles which I made using 2 SB circle dies and chopping in half. They stick together with half a velcro dot. I didn't have a shopping image, but what do you do when shopping with a friend? You stop for coffee, of course, and that's what these lovely ladies are doing!! Finally a touch of ribbon and  some pearls for more texture.

One Stitch at a time #201 - Girly
Crafty Girls #12 - Anything Goes
Allsorts #247 - Ladies Day
Aud Sentiments #101- Any sentiment for a girl
The Squirrel and the Fox - Something spooled (seam binding)

I'm off to do a bit of shopping now (food unfortunately) after having my hair done.

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments, I appreciate it xx

Pearls in my hair

Hello peeps and I hope this finds you well and enjoying some sunshine. I am delighted to report that the primroses are appearing in our hedgerows and the buds on the daffodils most definitely have a yellow tinge now. The rabbits are enjoying the delicacy that is our crocuses but hey ho, I can live with that!!

Anyway enough of the flora and fauna reporting and more of the reason I am actually here!!

It was my Birthday last week and, along with some other lovely goodies, my kind and generous team buddy Annette sent me some lovely ribbons which were the starting point for my card. The papers were a perfect colour match and this is what evolved.

The lovely image was coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers and then die cut using my little used Spellbinders majestic labels. I added glossy accents and glamour dust to the little birds and obviously some liquid pearls to her hair. To make a change I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and actually like the result...far softer than black I think.

I am playing at these challenges

I Love Promarkers #208 - Use dies but NO punches
Passion for Promarkers #236 - Make it digital
Pennys #166 - Guys and Girls (just a girl here!)
Divas by Design - Make it sparkle (hope the twinkly birds count!)

Thanks for sharing your day with me, you are always welcome xx

Pig Out!!

Sob, sob...it's Sunday which means I have to go to work tomorrow. I've had a lovely week and now it's over :0( On the bright side I do only work two days each week so what the heck am I complaining about!!?

Anyway here is a card I made yesterday using one of the LOTV sketches. I have been really constructive and put together several card bases using each of them. They really are great and when I am in a rush will just need to colour and add an image!!

I started by looking for pink papers to compliment Hamlet who I coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers. The sentiment came with the image and I added glossy accents and glamour dust to the cupcakes. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

I am taking Hamlet to play here...

Sweet Stampin' - Humour
Creative Fingers #24 - Anything Goes
Sister Act #45 - Anything Goes
Digisketch Challenge - Glitter It

Well that's it from me for now.

Enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing and see you soon xx

Another for the Christmas box

Hello peeps. It's Friday and the forecast looks good. The blacksmith is coming this morning to put the shoe back on the pony now that she has fully recovered so I can get back in the saddle again...weather permitting!! I am still on track with my mission to produce one Christmas card a week and here is my latest make.

The adorable stamp is Maggie and I got her in the Funky Kits Sale. She is coloured to match the papers. The ribbon came from a wonderful little local shop called Butterfly Bright they have such treasures!!

The inspiration came from these lovely challenges

Divas by Design - Rubber stamps only
ABC Christmas - D for diecuts (SB circles and Tonic layered scalloped circles)
Charisma Cardz #4 - Inspired by a movie
Miracle on 34th Street - My little girlie is as cute as Susan!!

That's all for now. Have a lovely day xx

I'm a fairy!!

Hello and welcome to Thursday and I am soooooo excited!!

I can't tell you how honoured I feel and send enormous thanks to Squirrel who kindly invited me to join this wonderful team. I am actually a "Pink Fairy"  but far too excited to wait until next week, so I am gatecrashing the "Blue Fairy" party this week and sharing my card for the new challenge which is

The lovely image is from the now closed Pollycraft digi shop. He was coloured with my Promarkers and fussy cut so that I could then 3d him onto embossed white card. I did the HB2U on word and cut it out with one of my MFT dies and used a notebook die along the top. Another lad card to add to the stock box.

I am joining in here

Shabby

Hello my crafty buddies. Hope your week is going well.
After assisting with  repairs to barns, tractor shed and house roofs I felt it necessary to indulge in some indoor pursuits!!

 Here is the result...

I don't do shabby very often so having found these pretty papers I decided to have a go. I got the old distressing tool out for a change (and made a mess all over the carpet...distressing in itself!!) and inked the edges with chalk ink. I die cut 2 semi circles to make a fretwork mat and then pulled a thread with tweezers in the seam binding to make a ruffled ribbon. The sweet image is Ellie who was coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from an LOTV set. The best bit of all was actually taking a photograph in the garden in real daylight!!

Anyway Ellie and I are off to play here

Stampin' for the Weekend - Flower Power
Crafting from the heart #7 -  Anything Goes/Use flowers
Papertake Weekly - Lovely layers
Just Inspirational - Shaped card

The postman has just delivered a set of Flexmarkers. I've never used them before so am off for a play!!

Thanks for sharing your Wednesday with me and  for your continued visits and lovely comments xx

OBAG DT

Hello my crafty friends. Here I am again, this time with my DT creation for

Dips chose the theme for this challenge and it's buttons. I'm certain you have some old ones somewhere so don't be shy, come and have a play!!

 Here is my contribution

I started with the papers and coloured Barry to match, using my Promarkers as usual. I used my favourite SB die to frame the image and a tonic punch for the flowers. I found some tiny old buttons which were perfect for the centre of the flowers and finished off with a sentiment stamp.

I am taking this little fella to these challenges

I love Promarkers #206 - Gingham or plaid
Butterfly challenge #1 - Butterflies and flowers

 together with a visit to

to join in her 5th Blogaversary celebrations.  I have used several favourite things, first and foremost my Promarkers ( I do try to use other mediums but always come back to my PM's), The frame is probably my most used die and the flower punch is the only one I tend to use!!

Thank you for sharing your day with me. See you soon xx

Spots and Dots

Happy Monday, Oh yes it really is a happy one because I am on annual leave this week!! However, that's not the only reason, it's also a  happy day because we have a new challenge starting at

Our theme for the coming fortnight is "Spots and Dots" and please don't forget that your card must be as cute as it can possibly be, Lisa really doesn't like having to delete you!!

Anyway we are being sponsored this time by

http://www.sweetstamps.com/

Here is my card...

I chose Ladybug Liftoff and coloured the image with Promarkers to match the spotted paper (MME Nostalgia). I then die cut the shape and just added a couple of sentiment tags and some seam binding.

I am joining in at these challenges

Mouse in the House

Good morning you lovely peeps and I hope you are well today.

Now, I am really hoping you will join us for something totally different at

We do try to encourage you to think "out of the box" and our theme this fortnight is certainly going to do that!! We would like you to create something using an object as your inspiration, that is something you can see and touch.

My eldest son and his Girlfriend were trawling through old photograph albums and scrapbooks (laughing regularly at Martin and I in the 80's!!) a while ago and came across this picture...

...it's me on my 1st Birthday and the dress I am wearing was hand knitted by my Grandma. Knitting has passed down the generations and my Mum is also an extraordinarily talented knitter. Me?...well, not so much but I can hold a pair of needles and do a mean stocking stitch. So this is what I made...

It was two fold inspiration really as Kim (Tillys Crafts) blogged a fabulous knitted rabbit a couple of weeks ago and I just had to go visit the source of her pattern (Mary Jane's Tearoom) and came away with the pattern for Fifi!!

PLEASE pop over and have a look at the fantastic array of inspirational goodies that my team mates have produced and get your thinking caps on!!

Have a lovely day and see you soon xx

Monday 10 February 2014

Hot chocolate....yum!!

Happy Monday folks!!  I'm grabbing the Christmas inspiration where I can at the moment while I still have the Christmas basket out, so here is my latest offering...

Because the lovely stamp is so large I chose to make an A5 tent fold for a change. The papers are, in fact, valentines ones but I think they also lend themselves to a nordic inspired Christmas card too. The image was, of course, coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment was added to a tab.  I used co-ordinating papers to make the little heart using a Marianne die set.

I am entering these challenges

ABC Christmas - C for chocolate creams
Creative Inspiration #251 - Anything Goes
CHNC #163 - Die cuts or punches

Anyway, whatever you are going I hope it's a good day. See you soon xx

Hello you crafty peeps.

Just a flying visit to share a pin cushion that I threw together yesterday using some bits and pieces destined for the bin. Apple sauce jar, strips of paper, a stuffed circle of felt and a ribbon.

Now all my pins have a home and I won't keep on pricking my fingers getting them out of the drawer!!

Off to play here

Crafty Ribbons #75 - Anything Goes with ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today and for your lovely comments xx

It's a man thing...

Good afternoon my blogging buddies and hope this finds you warm and safe. Rain and gales here...again although we did have a ten minute window first thing when I was able to walk Suzy, very quickly, after dealing with the pony, who is on the road to recovery thank goodness.

Anyway enough of the waffling and on with the card. I have made a card today for my youngest to give his friend who turns 20  in a couple of days (they are out on the town tonight...again!!) .

I used my lovely, lovely  newTonic layering dies for the circular card to start with. Used spotted and striped papers from a Wellington stack and coloured the perfectly appropriate image with Promarkers.
A LOTV sentiment and some complimentary buttons and some twine and the job's a good 'un.

I am off to play here...

Without Words - 9 to 5 (hope a professional teenager counts!!)
Crafty Cardmakers #109 - This is a a man's world
Papertake Weekly - Shaped cards
Passion for Promarkers #233 - Spots and Stripes

My time to craft #234 - Buttons (3) and Bows (1)

A new challenge starts today and the theme is "LOVE".
Here is my contribution...

Have an udderly fab day whatever you are up to!! xx

Happy Christmas Die!!

Hello my lovely crafty friends, and what a thoroughly horrendous day it is here in Dorset.
Blowing a gale, bucketing down with rain and the floods have returned ;0(

However being a "cup half full" type of gal I've spent a happy few minutes in the work room and made a Christmas card to add to my pile.

A very simple affair using my new MB die, some scraps of paper, twine and a brad.

I was inspired by these challenges

Christmas Cards All Year Round - Blue and White
CHNC Challenge #162 - Spots and/or stripes
Jingle Belles - Text me
My Mums Craft Shop #14 - Spots and Stripes
Fab 'n' funky #202 - Brads (just the one, hope it's OK)

Anyway, that's it for now folks. Thanks for your company.

Surprise is lame today so I'm off to wait for the vet to arrive...hope she has a boat!!

See you soon xx

Valentine surprise

Top o' the morning to you and I hope you are all well. Today we have a new challenge beginning at

and it's Valentine, chosen by Francesca... so dust off the heart dies and papers and join in!!

I decided to make a wedge box to fill with sweeties for my beau.

I tied the top together with an assortment of red ribbon which was adorned with a little red heart bell. I used a freebie stamp for the tag and heat embossed with red powder which I've had for donkeys and never used. I punched out some red hearts to add to the display...ooh, get me!!

I am taking my box here

Stampin for the Weekend - Anything but a card

Fantasy Stampers #3 - Love and Cherish
