Creating a scene!!

Hello my crafty friends and I hope the week has started  well for you, if not, then I wish you better days to come. I have another " different" card to share today and boy did it take an age to make. I can safely say that I won't be making a habit of creating  this type of card!!

I started with my SB pierced rectangles for the frame and then made a card blank to suit.  Then had a really good sort through my "Seasonal" dies and embossing folders for inspiration. The trusty Cheery Lynn poinsettia strip had to make an appearance. The tree is by Dee's Distinctively range and the country landscape by Memory Box. A Craftwork Card's sentiment to finish off.

Here's an angled shot to show the dimension and the sheen of the Centura pearl cardstock.

Some challenges I am entering

Allsorts #282 - Christmas
Crafting When we can - Black and white
Christmas Card Challenges #48 - Anything Goes
Pile it on - Create a scene
Crafty Cardmakers #126 - Cut it out
Not just cards #5 - Anything Goes

Better go and get the best face on ready for work!! See you soon xx

Boo!!

Hello there crafters. I have a (not so) spooky creation today for we are starting a new challenge at

and the seasonal theme is

SPOOKY

I chose to make a little goody bag should any little spooks be brave enough to venture down our lane, which in itself is spooky with bats, owls and without the luxury of streetlights!!

I used an old Pollycraft digi that I coloured with my Promarkers in suitably Hallowe'en colours. Simply matted on black and lime card and added a tag.

I've been saving it up for the current Without Words Challenge!!
and a few more besides

Open-minded crafting fun #22 - Halloween/Dressing up
Cute Card Thursday - Trick or Treat
Sweet Stampin' - Anything But A Card

Hope you will join us and remember that something on your creation needs to be older than six months.

Toodles for now xx

Golden Christmas

Hello one and all. I hope you are well this weekend.

I have another Christmas card to share today, a little different because, this time, there is no coloured image just a heat embossed stamped sentiment,

I broke into my Gilded Winter pad for this one and used gold mirror board too. The Cheery Lynn poinsettia die was used again and the centre of the blooms had a squirt of Diamond stickles. I found the ribbon in my stash and that's it!! See I can do elegant when the mood takes me!!

The inspiration came from these challenges

Winter Wonderland - Gold Christmas
Daring Cardmakers - Sentimental
 (and I revisited heat embossing)
Crafty Cardmakers - It's only words

We are off to Weymouth today for a wander around the harbour.
See you soon xx

Question time

It's Thursday so that means a new challenge at

and the conundrum this fortnight is.....Cute or Elegant and don't forget to tell us WHY?

It's cute for me, every time. I can do elegant if pushed but with the enormous choice of cute rubber and digital stamps available, who can resist a cutie such as Bobbi here...

...see , told you, even the coldest heart would melt just looking at that cute face!!

He was coloured with Promarkers then die cut using the lovely SB pierced rectangles. The delish papers are from Doodlebug  (you wore me down Michelle!!) and to finish off a die cut bow and sentiment.

A challenge or two

Digistamp Boutique - October Customer Competition
Bunny Zoes Challenge - Animals
Fussy and Fancy #25 - Orange and Black

Thanks for stopping by today and I
hope you will join us, cute or elegant we don't mind!! xx

I used Promarkers to colour the poor clumsy chap and you can see the sparkle on this close up a bit easier...

...don't study it too closely though as the markers did bleed a little :0(

I used a stamp from a
Chocolate Baroque set, Christmas Magic
 (Asha "made" me buy it!!)

The papers are Dovecraft Krafty Christmas and the twine and snowflake charm are from my stash.

Yay, another Bella!!

Morning all and I hope you are well on this positively ghastly Saturday, well it is here in Dorset UK anyway!! It's blowing a gale and the rain is lashing down even though it's really warm!!

I've added another Bella to my collection and here she is...with her friend too!!

She was coloured with Promarkers and I have used more of my Coffee in the Arbour pad. The old SB die was dusted off too and the layered frill was made using a Lawn Fawn die on off cuts of paper (too special to waste!!). While I was rummaging through my dies I found a Whimsy set that hadn't seen the light of day for a very long time so I used one for the corners and then heat embossed with Shabby white Frantage. LOTV .

Here are the challenges I was inspired by

In the pink #51  - Spots and/or stripes
Crafting with Dragonflies #37 - Pink cards for Breast Cancer Awareness
Divas by Design - Texture
(Heat embossing, paper frilled border, twine)
Allsorts #281 - Embossing
 (heat embossed corners)

See you soon xx

Cutie Pie Purple

Hello folks, hope you are raring to go on this Monday morning!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my "Conkers" card last week. I apologise for assuming that everyone knows what they are, so for those of you that asked they are the seeds from a Horse Chestnut Tree. The game "Conkers" was traditionally played by children (sadly no longer allowed in most schools). A hole was drilled through the middle where a string was threaded and the idea was to smash your opponent's conker to win the game. It used to make for hours of fun!!

Anyway on to business...I'm here with my Cutie Pie DT card today.

We are Perfectly Purple this time and from now on our challenges will be monthly so that gives you plenty of time to join in.

Here's my card...

The totally adorable image came from our sponsor Pink Gem Designs.

Those of you that visit often will know that my purple Promarkers are still very inky through little use as I am not a purple person. However my card was made for a certain lovely lady  (Annette) who is rather fond of this particular colour and celebrated her Birthday recently so I had a perfect excuse to try out the purple palette. So, little Chloe was coloured to compliment the Sweater Weather papers,
( one of which coincidentally had a lovely knitted pattern to echo her hat). Everything else came from my stash, flowers included which (like my ribbon stash) don't get enough use. I will try harder...promise!!

A challenge or two to enter...an unusually long list for a change in order to comply with Pile it On!!

Creative Fingers #52 - Anything Goes
Pile it on - 2 or more diecuts (SB Floral oval & standard ovals)
Suzy B's bloomin' Challenge #50 - Anything Goes + stripes
(hope the knitting counts, if not feel free to delete me!!)
Milk Coffee - Lots of layers
Aud Sentiments #117 - Anything Goes
Dragon's Lair Design Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafting at The Weekend #6 - Anything Goes

Have a good day, see you tomorrow xx

Conkers...

I used to love playing conkers as a girl and enjoyed many a Sunday afternoon out with Dad, Mum and my Sister looking for the best trees. Martin and I did the same with our Boys too.

So, after my trip down memory, my card!!

I couldn't resist adding to my digi image collection with the appropriately named Conkers . She was coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers to match the gorgeous Raspberry Road papers.

The brilliant sketch is from the current Creative Inspirations Challenge

The flowers and hessian are from my stash.

I am also playing along at these challenges

I Love Promarkers #240 - Autumn Colours
Craft Your Passion #234 - Add some fabric (hessian)

Thanks for visiting me today, a busy weekend ahead so, if not before, I shall see you on Monday.
Have a good weekend, when you get there!!  xx

What's Your Favourite Fibre?...

...that's what we'd like you to share with us at

and we don't mean breakfast cereal either!! We'd love to see your projects with  ribbon, lace, twine, binding, those sorts of fibres and don't forget to tell us why.

Here's a card with my favourite...ribbon

There is nothing nicer than a lovely bow to finish off a card, although I should practice what I preach in order to reduce my rather extortionate ribbon collection.....

...and....that doesn't include my rather impressive collection of seam binding either!!

Anyway, confession over...I used stamps from two different Woodware sets on this card, Little Christmas bird and Sprig of holly which was stamped onto linen card and then coloured with SN pencils. The berries had a liberal squirt of glossy accents too.

I'm playing here

A Gem of a Challenge #129 - CAS
Fab 'n' Funky #232 - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Penny Black and More October Challenge - Get ahead for Christmas
Love to Scrap #39 - Anything Goes with rubber or clear stamps
That's Crafty - Keep it simple

Thanks for coming by today xx

Temptation...

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...I'm feeling a bit "wordy"  so bear with!!

I have a Cuddly Buddly DT card to share with you today and what a cutie don't you think?!

I coloured the image with my SN pencils to compliment the digi papers, also by Cuddly Buddly.
The coredinations mat was a perfect colour match as was the ribbon although it looks much darker in the photograph. I used a new SB die to cut the artwork out.

This image reminded of me how naughty dogs can be when it comes to food and took me back to our youngest's 7th Birthday. I had taken chicken pieces out of the freezer  and left them on the work top to defrost so that I could cook them later on for the upcoming party. We had to pop to town for some other bits and pieces and shut Mog and Suzy in the Utility Room as usual. On our return, the chicken pieces had gone leaving only the polystyrene tray and one very guilty looking boy dog!! He had not only  managed to stand on his hind legs to open the utility room door with his front paw, but also leapt onto the worktop where he must have sat and devoured the whole lot.  After that we swapped the conventional handle for a door knob!! He must have had a stomach of steel as he suffered no ill effects at all...luckily for him and  us!!

Anyway, enough of my sentimental journey.

I am entering these challenges

Crafty Girls Challenge #28 - Anything Goes
Crafty Little Fairies - Only one DP
Creative Fingers #51 - Anything Goes
Crafty Hazelnut's Paper Challenge
Crafting by Designs October - Anything Goes

I'm off to get ready for work now.
Have a good day xx

Autumn

Hello lovely people, brrrr it's a bit chillier this morning, but the rain has stopped so that's a good thing. I've had a tentative go at something a little alien to me, stamping without colouring. I have seen such beautiful autumnal inky creations of late that I dragged out the old Big & Juicy ink pad and made this.

The stamp has a delicate self pattern too which you can see here

The stamp came from a Kanban set that I have had, for probably ten or more years, and never used (how shocking is that?). All I did was stamped twice without reinking and then stamped the outline stamp over the top of the lighter inpressions. I'm not sure if I like the finished result , probably because it is so far removed from what I usually do!!

Anyway off to play here

Ladybug Crafts - Autumn or halloween
Sweet Stampin - Autumn
Allsorts #279     - Autumn
Stamping Sensations - Warm Autumn Colours

Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for sharing a bit of it with me!! xx

Hedgie hanger

Hello everyone and I hope this finds you well.

I have a little hanging design to share today inspired by several current challenges.

This is the front

That's Surprise's house in the background, together with a bird poo and raindrops  on the window, for which I apologise  (didn't notice that as I was taking the photo!!)

I stamped one of the Christmas Friends onto Neena kraft and set about colouring with my SN pencils. Embellished with stardust stickles and pearl pen for some Christmas opulence!! I've no idea where the starry and beady ribbon came from...it works rather well I think.

 ...and the reverse side

No poo on this one but I do apologise for the poor quality, I blame the rain!!

The sentiment and wreath on the back are from the Warm Winter Wishes set by Inky Doodles, again stamped onto kraft but this time coloured with Sakura gel pens.

Here's where we are playing

Natalie & Amy - Colouring on Kraft
MAWTT - Hedgehogs
ABC Christmas - T for tree ornament
Crafty Catz #249 - All Sentimantal
Charisma Cardz - Anything But a Card

Hope you have a lovely Saturday whatever you are doing. Looks like the rain has finally arrived here in Dorset so indoor pursuits for me today :0)

See you soon xx
