Not a card

Morning peeps, I love Thursdays...nearly the weekend!! Yay!!
This is a particularly good one as I get to share my project for our new

As You Like It challenge and this time it's

" Your Favourite Not a Card" (don't forget to tell us why?)

I chose to make another slip cover box. I really enjoy making these, they are really easy to do, look expensive and make a great alternative to a decorated gift bag or conventional box. Added to that it's a great excuse to use up those "special" double sided papers that have been gathering dust for years...as in my case anyway!!

First off I must mention the adorable bunny that is Bently (with his bunny on this occasion) who was coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers. The box was made entirely from First Edition Floral Pavilion 12x12.

Here you can get a better look at the pretty interior and how it slides together.

We are off to play at these challenges

Springtime Wishes

Hello everyone. Just a quick post to share a card that I put together for some challenges. Sketches seem to be giving my inspiration a real boot up the backside at the mo and the ideas just keep on coming so I'm making the most of it!!

The stamp is Springtime Wishes, the papers were magazine freebies, and the flower was from a WOC pack.

Inspiration came from here....

Creative Moments #62 - Paper Piecing (her little dress and bow)
Sweet Stampin' - Spring flowers

Hope your day is a good one xx

Krafty Snowperson

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I have another Christmas card to share with you today that was inspired by several current challenges. So here it is...

...a little 5x5 kraft base for a change. The kraft mats behind the square and triangle started life as the centre of a roll of Christmas wrapping paper which I chopped to size and flattened!!  The darling little snowperson stamp was a Christmas present from the lovely Annette (mwah!!). I stamped onto linen card and was delighted to find that it coloured with Promarkers brilliantly so will be doing that again. The viva decor pearl pen had an outing for the snow and the papers are Krafty Christmas.

I was inspired by these challenges

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #85 - Layout

Winter Wonderland - Krafty Creations
Polkadoodles WK 7 - All things Kraft
ABC Christmas - D for Die cuts (Oval mats)

That's me for now. Thanks for your continued support xx

Buffy Bunny

Hello and welcome to everyone and I hope you are well.

I seem to be favouring animal images lately so here is another one!!
I broke with tradition on this card though as I usually choose my image first, then papers and colour the image to match. However this time I made the base first, just because I couldn't wait to cut the beautiful paper that I had to have in my (massive) collection. The base and mats were die cut using my   Go Kreate Frilly #10. The darling bunny is Buffy and was coloured with Promarkers to compliment the pretty papers and then cut out using my fabby new die Memory Box die set

The finishing touch was a matching coloured button and a tiny strand of twine that was lurking in my bits and pieces box...perfect!!

I am playing at these challenges

Crafting for all seasons #96 - Dies and/or punches
Inky Impressions #197 - Cute and Cuddly
Creative Inspirations #301 - Buttons
Crafting from the heart #47 - Anything Goes
Dream Valley #100 - Fave colour combo
( I love turquoise and pink together)
Creatalicious #72 - No square or rectangle
Digistamp Boutique - Customer Competition

WARNING  Scary photo alert!!

The lovely Sue ( Olliesmam) shared a fabulous crochet hat a while back and kindly sent me the pattern. I promised to show my effort so here it is and don't say I didn't warn you!!

Ok you can stop laughing now!! Looks like the weather's on the change though so I'll have to save it for next winter!!

Thanks for your company xx

Garden Friends

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good weekend.

I thought it was about time I shared more gorgeousness from Cuddly Buddly and this time I went for a male flavoured card.

This little chap is called Garden Friends and I really enjoyed getting to work with the Promarkers. The shed was actually made using Kim's "free" Bird house template which I altered to suit. I used a SB embossing folder for the wood effect and a little scrap of gingham for the shed trim.
I really am such a lucky girl to be on this Design Team and share such wonderful images!!

With the garden in mind I want to share another visitor to my garden. Connor had the grill pan rather high and caused a bit of "heat" in the kitchen shall we say, so I put the grill pan outside to cool down. A little later Suzy was growling so I went to have a look and found a fox up on the seat licking the grill pan!! It jumped off, sat down, looked at me and kindly posed while I took this snap!!

Some challenges to enter before I head off to work

Creative Craft Cottage #33 - In the garden
Penny's paper crafty challenge #214 - Embossing

Mid month Christmas

It's mid month reminder day at

Christmas Cards All Year Round

and I am here with another red and white creation. This was my second attempt because my first was soooo awful and I boy was I furious with Mr Mojo??!! Anyway a stern talking to and a rummage in the ribbon drawers and I came up with this

I managed to use up lots of bits of ribbon and a padded heart that I had stashed for years for no particular reason!! The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and stamped in Memento Ladybug.

Have a lovely weekend and I hope the postman delivers lots of Valentine's!! My beau is taking me on a shopping trip and lunch...I am so lucky!!

See you soon xx

Which one are you?

Hello you lovely people and I hope you are well today, if not, I hope tomorrow is better for you.

I am here this morning with my DT card for

As You Like It and our question for you this time is

CAS or Fussy?

Me? I'm not actually sure. I like to keep my cards flat for posting which (usually) means little in the way of embellishments, therefore not fussy.  BUT I do use layers, and  patterned papers are my favourite thing so lots of "white space" (as in the true meaning of CAS) goes out of the window too!! Oh dear what a conundrum...I know...you decide!!

Anyway my offering is a thank you card made with a cute little stamp that came with a recent magazine. I coloured with SN pencils and blending solution and used scraps of paper for the scalloped border and that, my friends, is that.

One or two challenges to play along with

Winter Wonderland - KISS
Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 163
Crafty Gals Corner #6 - Anything Goes

I do hope you will come and play along, you will be most welcome.

Thanks for coming by and for your kind words. It means a lot xx

Delightful doilies

Hello my crafty friends I hope you are well and raring to start another week.

I am here to share my card for the new challenge at

The Cutie Pie Challenge

new style blog badge

The theme this time is Delightful Doilies and here is my card

I used a stamp by one of our sponsors Crafty Sentiments and coloured her with Promarkers to compliment the pretty papers ( I wrestled with myself for soooo long not to get these but couldn't resist any longer!!) which I also used to stamp  the sentiment on to, the tab and also the flowers. I finished it off with a knotted length of seam binding from our other fabulous sponsor Crafty Ribbons. The doily is actually a die cut piece of cream parchment, using another of my dies that haven't seen the light of day for a very long time!!

I am entering these challenges

The Crafting Cafe - Favourite technique (colouring)
Lil patch of Crafty Friends #3 - Anything Goes
Not Just CArds #12 - Anything Goes
Crafts & Me  #153 - Add a Ribbon
Creative Fingers #66 - Anything Goes

Hope you will find time to dig out your doilies (and your cute images) and join us, you'd be most welcome!!

Strawberry

Another weekend already? Where do the weeks go? Anyway, thank you for dropping by today. During my productive  crafty session yesterday I put the finishing touches to this little beauty.

She was one of my "accidental" purchases that fell into my virtual basket while looking at the Funky Kits Sale in January. I can't find her in the shop so am guessing that she's out of stock at the mo.
As well as making an attempt to use forgotten dies, I am also challenging myself to try new stuff and in this case finally had a go at painting with distress inks.

I always look on in absolute awe at the wonderful art work achieved by Annette and Squirrel (among others), and although I do not have the bottles of re-inkers thought I would improvise by squishing DI on to my craft mat and pick up with a Koi water brush. Imagine my delight when I discovered I could do it!!
So much so that I am even showing a close up of my effort.

The papers came from an American crafts pack that I picked up in TKMaxx. The banner is another of my abandoned unused  dies by Cheery Lynn and the sweet little stamp is by Technique Tuesday.

I'm off to play at these challenges

The Sugar Bowl #121 - Anything Goes
My Craft Creations - Anything Goes
Crafty Your Passion #247 - Anything Goes
The Crafter's Cafe #102 - Birthday Card

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to xx

Love grows...

Hello all. Hope the sun is shining on you this afternoon. I've managed to grab a bit of crafty time today and have made a Valentine's inspired card, after all it would have been rude not to with all the love in the air at the moment!!

The image has been in my "odds and sods" folder for ages, although I have a feeling it may have come from Cedar Chest a couple of years ago. Anyway I coloured it with Promarkers to match the gorgeous Pink Petticoat papers (Vintage Rose - now retired, I think)  and typed the sentiment on the computer
(Hey pretty girl font).

I am going to enter lots of challenges today which may take longer to link up to than typing this!!

Red and White Christmas

Happy February peeps, and it's closer to spring...I hope!!

I'm here today to share my DT card for

as it's the start of the February Challenge today and the theme is

  Red and White

Here's my card...

The fab LOTV stamp was a  Christmas gift from a blogging buddy and was coloured with just red Promarkers in various shades!! The pretty gingham paper was from my scrap box and the faithful Cheery Lynn Poinsettia die was used...again!! Although it is hard to see in the photograph, I tried my hand with a wax seal in the middle of the gingham bow, it's a little snowman. D you know I have only just realized that I forgot to add a sentiment...oh well I can add one later!!

Some challenges I would like to enter

Fab 'n' Funky #244 - Christmas
Creative Fingers #65 - Anything Goes

Enjoy your Sunday xx
